I Exist In This is a snapshot of day to day life, including the mundane, the downfalls and the triumphs. The piece is, in a way, a self-portrait expressing my emotional state. It presents the fragmented process of thought and self-understanding, through the surreal lens of larger than life pencil drawings. The medium reflects the episodic and personal nature of the images, almost like a glimpse into an individual’s scattered thoughts. The pieces, messy and torn, look like they were taken from a huge notebook. They are the most private inner musings blown up for the public. My work is an homage to intimacy, mental health, and my relationship with myself.
