Master of Contemporary Practices in Art & Design
βOne does not impose, but rather exposes the site.β (Robert Smithson)
In Feet on the Ground, Head in the Clouds I take viewers on a journey to five sites around the Australian National University using ink on paper, prints and objects. I researched and, when practical, made elements of Feet on the Ground, Head in the Clouds during walks to my sites. The four stylised maps and their titles allow viewers to find these sites (or maybe other places). The Garments of Sounds and Keys to sites have the potential to enfold viewers in virtual sounds and sensations from each site, while with Diagrammatic Compass of Objects, composed of items found during walks, I align viewers to the larger, whole site.
I am a visual artist and writer working in Cooma, southern NSW. My interests are environmental art, printmaking and any medium that allows me to express my ideas.
