E-Waste is the fastest growing waste stream globally.  Through primary research including user interviews, repairability seminars, internet research and more, we deduced a neglected area of e-waste solutions is for small household appliances.  Our solution to the growing waste created by the disposal of small household appliances due to breakage and consumerism is as follows.  Legislation to mandate the use of recycled materials to reduce the overuse of virgin materials, ensure products are more durable and repairable, and companies can take initiative to help consumers.  A sample business model to demonstrate the viability of creating durable, reparable products, sale of repaired appliances and affordable repair help.  This includes branding, wireframes and mockups to illustrate societal and user engagement with a solution for reducing E-Waste.  A sample durable small appliance, a toaster, that is customisable so consumers form an emotional attachment and allows crumbs to fall out to limit potential damage.
